Gangtok & Sikkim — Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Indian tourists require an official permit issued by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department with passport photos and ID. We handle all permit processing.

No. Nathu La Pass is restricted to Indian nationals only due to military border protocol. Foreign nationals can visit Tsomgo Lake with a protected area permit.

March to May brings blooming rhododendrons and orchids. October to mid-December offers crystal-clear views of Kanchenjunga. January-February offers snow in North Sikkim.

Gangtok is accessed via Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or NJP Railway Station (120km, approx. 4.5 hours drive along the Teesta River). The new Pakyong Airport (PYG) also has seasonal flights.
